All About Used Chippers

What is a chipper? A chipper is a type of heavy machinery used in logging operations to chip whole trees in a forest or at a yard. It typically has a large feed opening that is equipped with a drum or cutting disc. A chipper can quickly and efficiently chip trees and feed the chips onto the ground or into a chip van for pulp wood product. 

Why is it a good investment? Whole Tree Chippers are designed to allow a single operator to chip entire trees quickly and efficiently. The chipper is typically used in areas where it is difficult to access lumber with other types of logging equipment and the chip processing needs to be completed in the woods. They are especially practical when used in combination with a debarker if the product you are looking to create is clean chips with low bark content. 

What kind of chipper is right for my operation? Track Chippers are easier to maneuver, while 5th Wheel Chippers tend to be easier to transport. You may prefer a drum or a disc style chipper, depending on what types of lumber you are processing.
